Baymax

Long time no see!

Reason being I am now looking after a small little (now three month old) human being so things have been hectic but crochet is still something I do in my (very little) downtime. So I'm back here with a pattern for Baymax!

This was made for my friend's son. I hope he enjoys cuddling him!

I made him from an 8ply yarn and a size 4.00 hook (the standard I use for all the patterns here. He is 32cm (12 1/2 inches) tall.

The facial features were felted on as the plush was made for a small child. You can use plastic eyes if it's for an older child.

Arms
Make 2
Round 1: CH2, SCx6 in the 2nd stitch from the hook (6)
Round 2: 2SCx6 (12)
Round 3: [2SC, SC]x6 (18)

Leave a stitch marker 8 stitches into the round and continue.
Round 9 - 38: SCx30 (30, 30 rounds) See note at the end of this piece if you wish to have fingers
Flatten the piece so that the stitch marker in round 8 is in the centre of the front. SC until you reach the edge and move your stitch marker here. This is the new start of the round. In my piece this was 5 stitches. Then you can remove the stitch marker from round 8 as that’s no longer required. Stuff firmly up to this point.
The round ends in the back of this piece.
The stitch marker is moved after crocheting an additional 5 stitches so that the round is on the edge with the initial (yellow) stitchmarker in the centre. The amount of stitches may differ depending on the way you crochet.

Round 39: [SC2tog, SCx3]x3, SCx15 (27)
Round 40: SCx27 (27)
Round 41: [SC2tog, SCx3]x3, SCx12 (24)

Round 44: SCx15 (21)
Round 45: [SC2tog, SCx2]x3, SCx9 (18)
Stuff lightly.
Round 46: [SC2tog, SC]x6 (12)
Round 47: SC2togx6
Sew onto the body so that the decreases are on the outside.

I left off the fingers on purpose. If you want to make fingers for Baymax, make the arms about 5 rounds shorter in the repeat section and then make tubes for the fingers and thumb. The tubes would be:
Round 1: CH2, SCx6 in the 2nd stitch from the hook (6)
Round 2 - 5: SCx6 (6, 4 rounds)

Chest Disc
Round 1: CH2, SCx6 in the 2nd stitch from the hook (6)
Round 2: 2SCx6 (12)
Round 3: (FLO) SCx12 (12)
Sew onto the body using the leftover back loops.

#778 Mimikyu

Hello all!! I've been mysteriously quiet lately but I've been very productive. Just lazy when it comes to actually resizing my images and putting these patterns up. I have a backlog of actual patterns to put up so I'll work through them slowly. I figure I would come back with one that a lot of people have been happy with. This Mimikyu is 30.5cm (12 inches) tall from base to the tip of its crooked ear. Features are needlefelted on and everything is sewn on and attached so there are no hard parts.  Head/Body Round 1: CH2, SCx6 in the 2nd stitch from the hook (6) Round 2: 2SCx6 (12) Round 3: [2SC, SC]x6 (18) Round 4: [2SC, SCx2]x6 (24) Round 5: [2SC, SCx3]x6 (30) Round 6: [2SC, SCx4]x6 (36) Round 7: [2SC, SCx5]x6 (42) Round 8: [2SC, SCx6]x6 (48) Round 9: [2SC, SCx7]x6 (54) Round 10: [2SC, SCx8]x6 (60) Round 11 - 20: SCx60 (60, 10 rounds) Round 21: [SC2tog, SCx8]x6 (54) Round 22: [SC2tog, SCx7]x6 (48) Round 23: [SC2tog, SCx6]x6 (42)

Avatar Crochet : Momo

Hello! I am back with another pattern. This was made as a gift for a friend of mine who I hope will find this to be a great surprise. As I was making it, I thought it would be nice tonote down the pattern and post it here. Apologies, some of the photos are quite yellow as they were taken at night and the last photo I got of him isn't the best as it was taken with a lot of junk in the background but it's the best finished photo I have of him. The first few photos he also has wonky eyes coz I kind of rushed it. But I fixed that up for the later photos...as I couldn't stand it. This makes a plush from DK weight yarn that is 35 cm (just under 14 inch) tall and the tail is 35cm (13 and a half inches) long. With the weigh his legs and feet are made and with the tail for support, Momo can stand by himself. Apologies if I got anything wrong, I personally don't watch Avatar so everything was from pictures! Here we go with the pattern: Momo DK weight yarn in white,
