#778 Mimikyu

Hello all!!

I've been mysteriously quiet lately but I've been very productive. Just lazy when it comes to actually resizing my images and putting these patterns up. I have a backlog of actual patterns to put up so I'll work through them slowly. I figure I would come back with one that a lot of people have been happy with.

This Mimikyu is 30.5cm (12 inches) tall from base to the tip of its crooked ear. Features are needlefelted on and everything is sewn on and attached so there are no hard parts.

Head/Body
Round 1: CH2, SCx6 in the 2nd stitch from the hook (6)
Round 2: 2SCx6 (12)
Round 3: [2SC, SC]x6 (18)
Round 4: [2SC, SCx2]x6 (24)
Round 5: [2SC, SCx3]x6 (30)

Row 1: SCx10 chain and turn
Row 2: SCx9 chain and turn
Row 25: SCx9, slip the hook into the next stitch round 25 and continue crocheting to the end of the round, SCx20 (30)
Stuff the head lightly and then continue crocheting next round. In round 26, crochet the next stich and then pick up the first stitch on the next step up. This creates the little head tilt.
Round 26 - 27: SCx30 (30, 2 rounds)
Round 28: [2SC, SCx4]x6 (36)
Round 29 - 30: SCx36 (36, 2 rounds)

Round 52: [SC2tog, SCx2]x6 (18)
Round 53: [SC2tog, SC]x6 (12)
Round 54: SC2togx6 (6)

Triangle flaps
Make 10 - yellow
Make 10 - black
Round 1: CH2, SCx6 in the 2nd stitch from the hook (6)
Round 2: SCx6 (6)
Round 3: [2SC, SC]x3 (9)

Round 6: [2SC, SCx2]x3 (12)
Round 7 - 8: SCx12 (12, 2 rounds)
Flatten and sew the yellow triangles to the leftover loops. I also sew the front of the triangle to the next round up for support and sew the triangles to each other to make the fit look nicer. Then sew the black triangles in between the yellow ones.

Black Tail Shadow
Round 1: CH2, SCx6 in the 2nd stitch from the hook (6)
Round 2: 2SCx6 (12)
Round 3 - 11: SCx12 (12, 9 rounds) =12345678
Sew underneath the back yellow triangle.

Tail
Chain 16
Round 1: From the 2nd chain from the hook, SCx14, 3SC, (turn the piece around and crochet using the leftover hooks on the other side), Scx14, 3SC (34)
Round 2 - 7: SCx34 (34, 6 rounds)
Stuff and sew closed. Leave a tail.

Chainx12
Round 1: From the 2nd chain from the hook, SCx10, 3SC, (turn the piece around and crochet using the leftover hooks on the other side), SCx10, 3SC (26)
Round 2 - 5: SCx26 (26, 4 rounds)
Stuff and sew closed. Leave a tail.

Chainx8
Round 1: From the 2nd chain from the hook, SCx6, 3SC, (turn the piece around and crochet using the leftover hooks on the other side), SCx6, 3SC (18)
Round 2 - 5: SCx18 (18, 4 rounds)
Stuff and sew closed. Leave a tail.

Sew the three pieces together to form the zig zag shape tail and then sew onto the tip of the back yellow piece as well as the black shadow underneath. If you like, can also sew a stitch joining the tail onto the back of the mimikyu to hold the tail up. The stuffed tail that I make does stand up on its own without needing the extra stitch.

  5. Hello! It sounds like you've been quite busy and productive with your crochet patterns, especially with this detailed Mimikyu creation. The intricate work and attention to detail in crafting each part of Mimikyu, from its head and body to the unique tail, are impressive. Needle felting the features adds a lovely touch, making it look even more charming.

For anyone who loves Pokemon and crafting, combining these interests can be a lot of fun. If you're looking for more Pokemon-themed activities, why not try some coloring as well? Avatar Crochet : Momo

Hello! I am back with another pattern. This was made as a gift for a friend of mine who I hope will find this to be a great surprise. As I was making it, I thought it would be nice tonote down the pattern and post it here. Apologies, some of the photos are quite yellow as they were taken at night and the last photo I got of him isn't the best as it was taken with a lot of junk in the background but it's the best finished photo I have of him. The first few photos he also has wonky eyes coz I kind of rushed it. But I fixed that up for the later photos...as I couldn't stand it. This makes a plush from DK weight yarn that is 35 cm (just under 14 inch) tall and the tail is 35cm (13 and a half inches) long. With the weigh his legs and feet are made and with the tail for support, Momo can stand by himself. Apologies if I got anything wrong, I personally don't watch Avatar so everything was from pictures! Here we go with the pattern: Momo DK weight yarn in white,
