Animal Crossing - Julian

I am finally back and have finished this little blue guy that I hve been working on for a while. There was a slight delay when I went overseas for 2 weeks and then a delay because I started a new diet and wanted to sleep and not make plush but now I have completed this squishy lovely player.

Free pattern, some of it may be a little confusing because I had to fudge my way through but it should be pretty easy if you just follow the steps.

Am really glad I've completed him.

Now I think I need to move on to a few more pokemon before I attempt Tia.

If you want to buy Julian, I do have him up in my etsy store here.

This squishy Julian is 33cm (13 inches) tall from his black hooves to the tip of his ears/horn. There are no hard parts as he's either made from yarn or his features were felted on.

I made him from DK weight yarn with a G/4mm size hook. If you don't like felting, then you can cut out felt and sew his features on and embroider the thinner embellishments.

Julian Pattern

Nostrils
with wite
make 2
Round 1: CH2, SCx6 in the 2nd stitch from the hook (6)
Round 2 - 3: SCx6 (6, 2 rounds)
Leave a long tail to sew the gaps in the nostrils later. Push the nostrils inside out so the good side is on the inside.

Head
Start with white
Round 1: CH2, SCx6 in the 2nd stitch from the hook (6)

Round 5: SCx2, pick up 4 stitches in one of the nostrils, skip 2 stitches on the head piece and then SCx5,  pick up 4 stitches in the other nostril and then skip 2 stitches on the head piece, SCx7 (22)

Sew the gaps underneath the nostrils closed with the tails and tie off.

This is what you see on the outside. When you felt some black into the nostrils they will stand out a bit more.

This is what the reverse (inside) looks like.

Round 6: SCx7, 2SC, SCx2, 2SC, SCx11 (24)
Round 7: [2SC, SCx3]x6 (30)

Hair Piece
with the darker blue hair colour
Round 1: CH2, SCx6 in the 2nd stitch from the hook (6)
Round 2: 2SCx6 (12)
Round 3: [2SC, SC]x6 (18)
Round 4: [2SC, SCx2]x6 (24)
Round 5: [2SC, SCx3]x6 (30)
Round 6: [2SC, SCx4]x6 (36)
Round 7: [2SC, SCx5]x6 (42)
Round 8: [2SC, SCx6]x6 (48)
Round 9 - 10: SCx48 (48, 2 rounds)

The next few rounds may be a bit confusing, it's just for the hair piece so it's okay if you lose your way and make it up as you go. I didn't include a number of stitches on the next two rounds as it got a bit confusing making this.

Round 11: SCx9, Chx8, from 2nd chain SCx7, (back on the main head piece) SCx9, Chx10, from 2nd chain SCx9, (back on the main head piece) SCx10, Chx10, from 2nd chain SCx9, (back on the main head piece), SCx9, Chx8, from 2nd chain SCx7, (back on the main head piece) SCx11

Round 12: SCx9 (up the chain), DCx2, HDCx2, SC, 3SC, (down the other side of the chain), SCx3, HDCx2, DCx2, (main head piece) skip 1, SCx7, (up the chain) DCx3, HDCx3, SCx2, 3SC, (down the other side of the chain) SCx3, HDCx4, DCx2,  (main head piece) skip 1, SCx9, (up the chain) DCx3, HDCx3, SCx2, 3SC, (down the other side of the chain) SCx3, HDCx4, DCx2,  (main head piece), skip 1, SCx8 (up the chain) DCx2, HDCx2, SC, 3SC, (down the other side of the chain), SCx3, HDCx2, DCx2, (main head piece) skip 1, SCx10

Leave a long tail and then sew this hair piece to the head. The two longer tails go around the white nose portion. Sew down how you'd like it to look.

I manipulated the piece a little and sewed it down not entirely flat so it would have the look I wanted.

After this I needlefelted the eyes on with the pink and black. Then felted some black into his nostrils. If you prefer, you can sew in felt instead.

Ears
Round 1: CH2, SCx6 in the 2nd stitch from the hook (6)
Round 2: SCx6 (6)
Round 3: 2SCx6 (12)
Round 4 - 5: SCx12 (12, 2 rounds)
Round 6: [2SC, SC]x6 (18)

Round 6: [2SC, SCx4]x6 (36)
Round 7: [2SC, SCx5]x6 (42)
Round 8: [2SC, SCx6]x6 (48)
Round 9 - 17: SCx48 (48, 9 rounds)
Round 18: [SC2tog, SCx6]x6 (42)
Round 19 - 21: SCx42 (42, 3 rounds)
Round 22:[SC2tog, SCx5]x6 (36)
Round 23 -25: SCx36 (36, 3 rounds)
Round 26: [SC2tog, SCx4]x6 (30)
Round 27 - 29: SCx30 (30, 3 rounds)
Round 30: [SC2tog, SCx3]x6 (24)
Round 31 - 33: SCx24 (24, 3 rounds)
Leave a long tail to sew the body to the head but don't sew it on yet. The clothes will need to be put on first. You may wish to stuff the body so it's easier to position and sew on the arms. Or stuff the body right before sewing onto the head later on.

Arms
Start with black
make 2
Round 1: CH2, SCx6 in the 2nd stitch from the hook (6)
Round 2: 2SCx6 (12)
Round 3: SCx12 front loop only (12)
Round 4: SCx12 both loops and pick up the dropped loop from the previous round, this will give the foot a nice straight turning edge. (12)
Round 5: SCx12 (12) change to blue body colour
Round 6 - 19: SCx12 (12, 14 rounds)
Leave a long tail. Stuff firmly and then sew to the body.

Clothes
Bottom up
Round 1: Chainx54 and join to the original chain to form a loop.
Round 2 - 7: SCx54 (54, 6 rounds)
Round 8: [SC2tog, SCx7]x6 (48)
Round 9 - 11: SCx48 (48, 3 rounds)
Round 12: [SC2tog, SCx6]x6 (42)
Round 13 - 15: SCx42 (42, 3 rounds)
Round 16: [SC2tog, SCx5]x6 (36)
Round 17 - 19: SCx36 (36, 3 rounds)
Round 20: SCx5, chx8, skip 5, SCx12, chx8, skip 5, SCx9 (42)
Round 21 - 22: SCx42 (42, 2 rounds)
Weave in both loose ends and dress Julian and then sew the body onto the head. +

Legs
start with black
make 2
Round 1: CH2, SCx6 in the 2nd stitch from the hook (6)
Round 2: 2SCx6 (12)
Round 3: [2SC, SC]x6 (18)
Round 4: SCx18 front loop only (18)
Round 5: SCx18 both loops and pick up the loop left from the previous round (18)
Round 6: SCx18 (18) change to body shade of blue
Round 7 - 18: SCx18 (18, 12 rounds)

Hair Spikes
Round 1: CH2, SCx6 in the 2nd stitch from the hook (6)
Round 2: [2SC, SC]x3 (9)
Round 3: SCx9 (9)
Round 4: [2SC, SCx2]x3 (12)
Round 5 - 7: SCx12 (12, 3 rounds)
Stuff lightly and sew one onto the base of the head and two onto the body. Sew them on slightly flattened.

Tail
Round 1: CH2, SCx6 in the 2nd stitch from the hook (6)
Round 2: SCx6 (6)
Round 3: [2SC, SC]x3 (9)
Round 4 - 6: SCx9 (9)
Round 7: [2SC, SCx2]x3 (12)
Round 8 - 10: SCx12 (12, 3 rounds)
Round 11: SC2togx6 (6)
Round 12: SCx6 (6)
Stuff the tail firmly and sew the tail to the body. If you have fat fingers, you might want to stuff the tail before round 11. I just prefer to stuff at the end because I don't like crocheting around stuffing.

Big Stars
(make as many as you'd like to sew onto the shirt - I made 2 coz they're quite big, one for the front and one for the back)
Round 1: CH2, DCx7 in the 2nd stitch from the hook (7)
Round 2: Chainx5, [SCx2, DCx2] going back down the chain you created (Starting from 2nd chain from the hook), SC into the next chain on the original round, then SC. And repeat from the start until you get all four points.

After you've created the 4th point, you only need to crochet one SC instead of the two.

Small Stars
(I made 6 but you should make as many or as few as you wish)
Round 1: CH2 then continue crocheting in the 2nd stitch from the hook - [SC, Chx3, SCx2 (down the chain starting from the 2nd stitch then next stitch back into the original hole)]x4, then slip stitch to join the last point to the main part of the star.

Leave a long tail to sew onto the body for all the created stars.

  2. Hello! It's been a while since I worked this pattern but from what I can see 22 is correct. When you reach the nostril piece, crochet 4 into the nostril and leave the rest uncorked. Then when you crochet back onto the main head piece, skip 2 stitches on the main piece and continue on. This leaves two gaps underneath each nostril that's sewn shut when you finish the round.

Avatar Crochet : Momo

Hello! I am back with another pattern. This was made as a gift for a friend of mine who I hope will find this to be a great surprise. As I was making it, I thought it would be nice tonote down the pattern and post it here. Apologies, some of the photos are quite yellow as they were taken at night and the last photo I got of him isn't the best as it was taken with a lot of junk in the background but it's the best finished photo I have of him. The first few photos he also has wonky eyes coz I kind of rushed it. But I fixed that up for the later photos...as I couldn't stand it. This makes a plush from DK weight yarn that is 35 cm (just under 14 inch) tall and the tail is 35cm (13 and a half inches) long. With the weigh his legs and feet are made and with the tail for support, Momo can stand by himself. Apologies if I got anything wrong, I personally don't watch Avatar so everything was from pictures! Here we go with the pattern: Momo DK weight yarn in white, ...

#778 Mimikyu

Hello all!! I've been mysteriously quiet lately but I've been very productive. Just lazy when it comes to actually resizing my images and putting these patterns up. I have a backlog of actual patterns to put up so I'll work through them slowly. I figure I would come back with one that a lot of people have been happy with. This Mimikyu is 30.5cm (12 inches) tall from base to the tip of its crooked ear. Features are needlefelted on and everything is sewn on and attached so there are no hard parts.  Head/Body Round 1: CH2, SCx6 in the 2nd stitch from the hook (6) Round 2: 2SCx6 (12) Round 3: [2SC, SC]x6 (18) Round 4: [2SC, SCx2]x6 (24) Round 5: [2SC, SCx3]x6 (30) Round 6: [2SC, SCx4]x6 (36) Round 7: [2SC, SCx5]x6 (42) Round 8: [2SC, SCx6]x6 (48) Round 9: [2SC, SCx7]x6 (54) Round 10: [2SC, SCx8]x6 (60) Round 11 - 20: SCx60 (60, 10 rounds) Round 21: [SC2tog, SCx8]x6 (54) Round 22: [SC2tog, SCx7]x6 (48) Round 23: [SC2tog, SCx6]x6 (42)  ...
