Hey everyone!
It's been a long time since I've been able to write up an update. So many things have been happening lately. I've gotten a Thermomix for one. That is the best decision I have made for myself as I've started cooking a lot more recently and varied my diet in healthy and tasty ways. Before that, my life was full of boring stir fry's over and over again.
Don't get me wrong, stir fry is delicious but I was eating the same stir fry every night. Now, my diet is full of stew, steamed fish/chicken, noodles, pasta and everything from scratch.
There has also been a cute little addition to my family. My niece was born recently and she's so adorable. Cute little poop machine. She's making cute little faces and constantly sticking her tongue out at me. I've been trying to make things though!
I have finally finished up the minion pattern. I thought I had a lot more photos than this, so I apologise that this is mostly a text based pattern than my usual photo filled tutorial.
Please email me or leave a comment if you need anything clarified. :)
Hair - black yarn
To make the hair, insert random loop stitches as you crochet.Have as few or as many as you want but try and randomly place them. In my piece, I had 2 in round 2 and then in round 3 and 4 I had bout 4 - 5 per round.
Round 1: CH2, SCx6 in the 2nd stitch from the hook (6)
Round 2: 2SCx6 (12)
Round 3: [2SC, SC]x6 (18)
Round 4. [2SC, SCx2]x6 (24)
Round 5. [2SC, SCx3]x6 (30)
Finish off. You don’t have to weave in the tail but you won’t be needing it to sew onto anything. Take the loop stitches and cut the loops so that they are now individual strands that look like hair in the photo above. Leave to the side until round 5 of the next piece.
Minion - yellow yarn
Round 1: CH2, SCx6 in the 2nd stitch from the hook (6)
Round 2: 2SCx6 (12)
Round 3: [2SC, SC]x6 (18)
Round 4: [2SC, SCx2]x6 (24)
Pull the yarn long and take out the hook. Place the black Hair piece under the yellow piece (it'll be on the inside of the minion when it's complete. Then pull through the black strands that are left from cutting the loops. You'll pull them through the yellow piece you made to create the head. Then when you crochet the next round, pick up the stitch of the yellow as you're crocheting so you're effectively attaching the black to the bottom of your yellow piece. Then continue as per normal.
If you find it easier, you can just sew the black piece to the yellow piece so it sits just below it. I don't like sewing pieces together if I can help it so I just crochet'd them together.
Round 5: [2SC, SCx3]x6 (30)
Round 6: [2SC, SCx4]x6 (36)
Round 7 - 23: SCx36 (36, 17 rounds)
Round 24: [SC2tog, SCx4]x6 (30)
Round 25: [SC2tog, SCx3]x6 (24)
Round 26: [SC2tog, SCx2]x6 (18)
Stuff firmly.
Round 27: [SC2tog, SC]x6 (12)
Round 28: SC2togx6 (6)
Sew closed and finish the body piece.
Overalls - blue
Round 1: CH2, SCx6 in the 2nd stitch from the hook (6)
Round 2: 2SCx6 (12)
Round 3: [2SC, SC]x6 (18)

Round 5: [2SC, SCx3]x6 (30)
Round 6: [2SC, SCx4]x6 (36)
Round 7 - 11: SCx36 (36, 5 rounds)
Row 12 - 16: Ch and turn. SCx12 (12, 5 rows)
Finish off and leave a long tail to sew this to the minion body. The rectangle tab you just crocheted with the rows would be the back of the Minion.

Row 11: Ch and turn. SC2tog, SCx10, SC2tog (12)
Row 12 - 16: Ch and turn. SCx12. (12, 5 rows)
Leave a long tail and sew on.
Front Pocket
Row 1. Chx5: Then from the 2nd ch from the hook, SCx4. (4)
Row 2 - 4: SCx4 (4, 3 rows)
Leave a long tail and sew onto the front but only sew down 3 sides. Leave the top open so it looks like a little pocket.
Overall Straps
Start by leaving a medium length tail so it’s easy to weave in or sew in/pull through the minion body.
Row 1: Chx13
Row 2: From the 2nd chain from the hook, SCx12. (12)
Leave a long tail so you can use it to sew onto both sides for the minion front and back.
Eyes - make 2
White
Round 1: CH2, SCx6 in the 2nd stitch from the hook (6)
Round 2: 2SCx6 (12)
Slip stitch into the next stitch, finish off and weave in.
Then attach grey. You can continue on from round 2 and do a colour change but I find this makes a neater circle for the glasses.
Round 3: [2SC, SC]x6 (18)
Round 4: SCx18 (18)
Slip stitch and finish off with a long tail. Attach the eye to the middle. Sew the eyes onto the face so they overlap like how the glasses look.
Glasses Band
Chx28
Row 1. SCx27 (27)
Leave a long tail and sew that around the head and attach to the glasses.

Round 5: SC2togx6 (6)
Round 6: Front loop only SCx6 (6)
Round 7: 2SCx6 (12)
Stuff very lightly as you want a flat kind of hand and then finish off the black.
Fingers - 3 for each hand
Round 1: CH2, SCx6 in the 2nd stitch from the hook (6)
Round 2: SCx6 (6)
Sew to the hand.
Arms
Start by leaving a long tail.
Round 1: CH2, SCx6 in the 2nd stitch from the hook (6)
Round 2 - 5: SCx6 (6, 4 rounds)
Leave a long tail. Sew the start end to the stitches that are left behind of the hand piece. Then sew the other end to the body where you would like the arm.
Feet - make 2
Round 1: CH2, SCx6 in the 2nd stitch from the hook (6)
Round 2: 2SCx6 (12)
Round 3: 2SCx3, SCx3, 2SCx3, SCx3 (18)
Round 4: SCx18 back loop only (18)
Round 5: SC2togx5, Scx8 (13)
Round 6: SC2togx3, SCx7 (10)
Round 7 - 8: Scx10 (10, 2 rounds)
Round 9: [2SC, SC]x5 (15)
Round 10: SCx15 (15)
Finish off with a long tail and stuff firmly. The last part you crochet’d folds down for the extra top part of the shoe. Sew to the body.
