Friday Freebies : Teru Teru Bozu

So today, I bring you a free design inspired by the country that I am going to be visiting in another 32 days. I have made a little teru teru bozu doll!

To find out more about this doll, please venture over to Wiki. :)

This is a very simple pattern and was definitely a lot of fun to make. So I hope this fortnight's pattern didn't disappoint in any way!

Head
Round 1: CH2, SCx6 in the 2nd stitch from the hook (6)
Round 2: 2SCx6 (12)
Round 3: [2SC, SC]x6 (18)
Round 4: [2SC, SCx2]x6 (24)
Round 5 – 8: SCx24 (24, 4 rounds)
Round 9: [SC2tog, SCx2]x6 (18)
Round 10: [SC2tog, SC]x6 (12)
Attach the eyes and stuff firmly. (I attached my eyes between rounds 6 and 7 and about 5 stitches apart.)
Round 11: SC2togx6 (6)
Sew closed and leave a long tail.
Needlefelt on the cute mouth or embroider on, depending on which technique you feel comfortable with.

Swishy tail

Round 1: CH2, SCx6 in the 2nd stitch from the hook (6)
Round 2: 2SCx6 (12) [in this round, I pick up the tail from round 1 and crochet it into the piece so there isn’t a loose tail. You can also just weave this tail in if it’s easier for you]
Round 3: [2SC, SC]x6 (18)
Round 4: [2SC, SCx2]x6 (24)
Round 5: [2SC, SCx3]x6 (30)
Round 6: [2SC, SCx4]x6 (36)
Round 7: [2SC, SCx5]x6 (42)
Round 8: [2SC, SCx6]x6 (48)
Round 9: [2SC, SCx7]x6 (54)
Round 10: [2SC, SCx7]x6 (60)
Round 11: [Skip a stitch, 5DC, Skip a stitch, SC]x15 (90)
Weave in the end after stitching it to the first stitch of the shell edging.
Sew the head to round 2 of the swishy tail piece.

Ribbon
Chain 5
In the 5th stitch from the hook, treble crochet three times
Chain 5 and slip stitch to that first stitch again
Chain 5 again. Then treble crochet three times again back into the same loop that all the work has been done in so far.
Chain 5 and slip stitch back again in the same loop.
So if this was working in the round like a normal piece, this was all Round 1.
You can now use the tail that was left at the start to tighten the hole.
Leave a long tail. Wrap the tail around the ribbon to create a more distinct ribbon shape and sew to the front of your teru teru bozu.

Hanging loop
To create the hanging loop, insert the hook into round 1 of the head with no yarn. Then use the hook to pull the yarn through the head so this creates a loop. Now push the hook back into the head and use that to pull the yarn through again so you can complete one single crochet.
Chainx10 and then slip stitch back into the head. Tie off the ends and pull them back through the head and snip off.

    1. Hello! You can start any of the parts that say "Round 1: CH2, SCx6 in the 2nd stitch from the hook (6)" with a magic circle. :)

#778 Mimikyu

Hello all!! I've been mysteriously quiet lately but I've been very productive. Just lazy when it comes to actually resizing my images and putting these patterns up. I have a backlog of actual patterns to put up so I'll work through them slowly. I figure I would come back with one that a lot of people have been happy with. This Mimikyu is 30.5cm (12 inches) tall from base to the tip of its crooked ear. Features are needlefelted on and everything is sewn on and attached so there are no hard parts.  Head/Body Round 1: CH2, SCx6 in the 2nd stitch from the hook (6) Round 2: 2SCx6 (12) Round 3: [2SC, SC]x6 (18) Round 4: [2SC, SCx2]x6 (24) Round 5: [2SC, SCx3]x6 (30) Round 6: [2SC, SCx4]x6 (36) Round 7: [2SC, SCx5]x6 (42) Round 8: [2SC, SCx6]x6 (48) Round 9: [2SC, SCx7]x6 (54) Round 10: [2SC, SCx8]x6 (60) Round 11 - 20: SCx60 (60, 10 rounds) Round 21: [SC2tog, SCx8]x6 (54) Round 22: [SC2tog, SCx7]x6 (48) Round 23: [SC2tog, SCx6]x6 (42)

Clefairy (Pokedoll style)

Hello! I come with another pattern that isn't being added to the pokedex library as this one is done in pokedoll (cute and round) style rather than based on the original dex image. But this one is really quick and easy to work up! I made this with DK weight yarn and my usual 4.00 size hook. The plush works up to be 18cm (7 inches) tall and 21cm (about 8 1/2 inches) arm span!
