Adventure Time - Jake Rattle

A quick freebie pattern from me today. Have just finished a big crochet project involving three life sized cats and have made this little pattern up to celebrate.

One of my friends has recently had a little baby and she loves this show so why not a little project to combine her two loves?

I made Jake out of DK weight yarn. He is 20cm (almost 8 inches) tall and the rattle bit is soft, only stuffed with no wiring.

To make him, I used:
DK Yarn - yellow, white, black
G/6 – 4.0mm crochet hook
Stuffing

Body
Round 1: CH2, SCx6 in the 2nd stitch from the hook (6)
Round 2: 2SCx6 (12)
Round 3: [2SC, SC]x6 (18)
Round 4: [2SC, SCx2]x6 (24)
Round 5: [2SC, SCx3]x6 (30)
Round 6: [2SC, SCx4]x6 (36)
Round 7 - 24: SCx36 (36, 18 rounds)
Stuff a small amount to keep the rattle off the side of the plush, insert the rattle piece and then stuff a little more. Then continue.
Round 25: [SC2tog, SCx4]x6 (30)
Round 26: [SC2tog, SCx3]x6 (24)
Stuff firmly.
Round 27: [SC2tog, SCx2]x6 (18)
Round 28: [SC2tog, SC]x6 (12)
Round 29: SC2togx6 (6)
Sew closed and finish off.

Ears
Round 1: CH2, SCx6 in the 2nd stitch from the hook (6)
Round 2: 2SCx6 (12)
Round 3: [2SC, SC]x6 (18)
Round 4 - 7: SCx18 (18, 4 rounds)
Leave a long tail, flatten and then sew onto the side of the head.

Outside eyes
make 2
black
Round 1: CH2, SCx6 in the 2nd stitch from the hook (6)
Round 2: 2SCx6 (12)
Leave a long tail and sew to the head.

Inside eyes
make 2
white
Round 1: CH2, SCx6 in the 2nd stitch from the hook (6)
Round 2: [2SC, SC]x3 (9)
Leave a long tail and sew to the black eye portions on the head.

Mouth Base
Round 1: CH2, SCx6 in the 2nd stitch from the hook (6)
Round 2: 2SCx6 (12)
Sew the mouth base onto the head between the eyes. For the bottom half of the circle, only sew down the back loop, leaving the top loop unstitched will provide a little more dimension for the mouth.

Nose
Round 1: CH2, SCx3 in the 2nd stitch from the hook (3)
Sew to the middle of the mouth base.

Jowls
Round 1: CH2, SCx6 in the 2nd stitch from the hook (6)
Round 2 - 11: SCx6 (6, 10 rounds)
Sew the tube closed and leave a long tail. Sew onto the head above the nose and loop it around into an n shape.

Rattle Ring
Round 1: CH2, SCx6 in the 2nd stitch from the hook (6)
Round 2: 2SCx6 (12)
Round 3 - xx: SCx12 (12, xx rounds)
It might be easier if you stuff as you go for a firm ring. For the rattle ring, crochet as many rounds as you want to make the ring as big as you want. Then sew each end of the long sausage onto where the legs would have joined the body to finish the rattle.

And you're done!

#778 Mimikyu

Hello all!! I've been mysteriously quiet lately but I've been very productive. Just lazy when it comes to actually resizing my images and putting these patterns up. I have a backlog of actual patterns to put up so I'll work through them slowly. I figure I would come back with one that a lot of people have been happy with. This Mimikyu is 30.5cm (12 inches) tall from base to the tip of its crooked ear. Features are needlefelted on and everything is sewn on and attached so there are no hard parts.  Head/Body Round 1: CH2, SCx6 in the 2nd stitch from the hook (6) Round 2: 2SCx6 (12) Round 3: [2SC, SC]x6 (18) Round 4: [2SC, SCx2]x6 (24) Round 5: [2SC, SCx3]x6 (30) Round 6: [2SC, SCx4]x6 (36) Round 7: [2SC, SCx5]x6 (42) Round 8: [2SC, SCx6]x6 (48) Round 9: [2SC, SCx7]x6 (54) Round 10: [2SC, SCx8]x6 (60) Round 11 - 20: SCx60 (60, 10 rounds) Round 21: [SC2tog, SCx8]x6 (54) Round 22: [SC2tog, SCx7]x6 (48) Round 23: [SC2tog, SCx6]x6 (42)

Avatar Crochet : Momo

Hello! I am back with another pattern. This was made as a gift for a friend of mine who I hope will find this to be a great surprise. As I was making it, I thought it would be nice tonote down the pattern and post it here. Apologies, some of the photos are quite yellow as they were taken at night and the last photo I got of him isn't the best as it was taken with a lot of junk in the background but it's the best finished photo I have of him. The first few photos he also has wonky eyes coz I kind of rushed it. But I fixed that up for the later photos...as I couldn't stand it. This makes a plush from DK weight yarn that is 35 cm (just under 14 inch) tall and the tail is 35cm (13 and a half inches) long. With the weigh his legs and feet are made and with the tail for support, Momo can stand by himself. Apologies if I got anything wrong, I personally don't watch Avatar so everything was from pictures! Here we go with the pattern: Momo DK weight yarn in white,
