#472 Gliscor

While I'm on a small roll right now, I also have a gliscor pattern that I've been holding onto for a few months now.

I wrote this particular pattern back when I had a little more time so I have more photos than in my more recent postings.

If you like the patterns on my blog, you may consider to:

I then cut 7 pipe cleaners and crochet little tubes of black to cover each one. Then I would sew the pipe cleaners on the wing to each of the black points and along the wing to give it raised definition, also use this thread to sew the gaps of the points to the wings where the skip stitches are.

I would then use the thread from each of these sections to weave through and sew to the halfway points between each wing point. Then pull tight. This pulls the midpoints between each wing tight and make it look more wing like.

My pipe cleaner tubes are:
Round 1: CH2, SCx6 in the 2nd stitch from the hook (6)
Round 2 - ??: SCx6
Just keep crocheting around until the tube is long enough to cover the pipe cleaner.

Use the leftover purple thread from the collar piece to sew to the wing.

Back Pieces
Purple
Round 1: CH2, SCx6 in the 2nd stitch from the hook (6)
Round 2: SCx6 (6)
Round 3: 2SCx6 (12)
Round 4 - 5: SCx12 (12, 2 rounds)
Round 6: [2SC, SC]x6 (18)
Round 7 - ??: SCx18 (18, ?? rounds)
From round 7 just keep crocheting in the round until this piece fits up the back of the purple collar part. The point up to about round 4 should cover some of the black wing part. Stuff lightly and flatten a little so that it only sticks out slightly and sew onto the back collar.

Purple
make 2
Round 1: CH2, SCx6 in the 2nd stitch from the hook (6)
Round 2 - 3: SCx6 (6, 2 rounds)
Sew one on either side of the main back piece.

Claws
Make 2

Round 17: [SC2tog, SCx3]x6 (24)
Round 18: [SC2tog, SCx2]x6 (18)
Round 19: [SC2tog, SC]x6 (12)
Leave a tail and finish off and then repeat from Round 1 to start the other half of the claw except this time don’t finish off and continue onto the next round.

Round 20: Insert the crochet hook onto the next stitch of the first piece SCx6, then skip 6 stitches on the current piece and  insert the hook, SCx6 (12)
Round 21 - 22: SCx12 (12, 2 rounds)
Round 23: SC2togx6 (6)
Use the long tail from the first piece to sew the inside of the claw pieces together. Stuff the little pocket created by round 20 - 24. The rest of the claw pieces should be flattened. Sew closed to finish and leave a long tail.
The second tail is used to sew onto the arm.

Claw Pointy Bits
Make 10

Round 2: SCx6 (6)
Round 3: [2SC, SC]x3 (9)
Round 4 - 5: SCx9 (9, 2 rounds)
Pick which claw you want as top and bottom piece (they’re the same but one might sit better as the bottom piece). The bottom piece will have a pointy bit sewn onto the tip (where round 1 is) and the top piece will have 2 pieces sewn onto each side hanging down.

Arms
In the same dark pink colour as the inner ear/body pieces
Round 1: CH2, SCx6 in the 2nd stitch from the hook (6)
Round 2 - ??: SCx6
Keep crocheting in the round to make a tube long enough for the arm. Stuff lightly as you go. Sew the claw piece to the arm and then the arm to the body.

Gliscor is now done!

Comments

  1. I'd say you did a lot of work. It resembles gliscor, but i think the wings need to be a bit larger. I am sure you will make some changes when next you make this pattern. Jus a work of art in progress!

#778 Mimikyu

Hello all!! I've been mysteriously quiet lately but I've been very productive. Just lazy when it comes to actually resizing my images and putting these patterns up. I have a backlog of actual patterns to put up so I'll work through them slowly. I figure I would come back with one that a lot of people have been happy with. This Mimikyu is 30.5cm (12 inches) tall from base to the tip of its crooked ear. Features are needlefelted on and everything is sewn on and attached so there are no hard parts.  Head/Body Round 1: CH2, SCx6 in the 2nd stitch from the hook (6) Round 2: 2SCx6 (12) Round 3: [2SC, SC]x6 (18) Round 4: [2SC, SCx2]x6 (24) Round 5: [2SC, SCx3]x6 (30) Round 6: [2SC, SCx4]x6 (36) Round 7: [2SC, SCx5]x6 (42) Round 8: [2SC, SCx6]x6 (48) Round 9: [2SC, SCx7]x6 (54) Round 10: [2SC, SCx8]x6 (60) Round 11 - 20: SCx60 (60, 10 rounds) Round 21: [SC2tog, SCx8]x6 (54) Round 22: [SC2tog, SCx7]x6 (48) Round 23: [SC2tog, SCx6]x6 (42)

Avatar Crochet : Momo

Hello! I am back with another pattern. This was made as a gift for a friend of mine who I hope will find this to be a great surprise. As I was making it, I thought it would be nice tonote down the pattern and post it here. Apologies, some of the photos are quite yellow as they were taken at night and the last photo I got of him isn't the best as it was taken with a lot of junk in the background but it's the best finished photo I have of him. The first few photos he also has wonky eyes coz I kind of rushed it. But I fixed that up for the later photos...as I couldn't stand it. This makes a plush from DK weight yarn that is 35 cm (just under 14 inch) tall and the tail is 35cm (13 and a half inches) long. With the weigh his legs and feet are made and with the tail for support, Momo can stand by himself. Apologies if I got anything wrong, I personally don't watch Avatar so everything was from pictures! Here we go with the pattern: Momo DK weight yarn in white,
